Description

The Scraper Bottom Discharge Centrifuge is designed for crystal dewatering, mother liquor removal, cake washing, and automatic batch separation of filterable chemical and inorganic salt slurries.

It is suitable for crystallized materials with moderate to high solids content that can form a stable filter cake inside the basket. Typical applications include chemical crystals, inorganic salts, chloride salts, sulfate salts, carbonate crystals, mineral salts, and crystallized salts discharged from evaporation or crystallization systems.

The centrifuge completes feeding, filtration, optional cake washing, high-speed spin drying, automatic scraping, and bottom discharge within one controlled batch cycle. It helps reduce residual mother liquor, improve crystal cleanliness, lower cake moisture, and reduce manual handling.

How the Scraper Bottom Discharge Centrifuge Works

The crystallized slurry enters the rotating basket lined with filter media.

Under centrifugal force:

  1. Slurry Feeding
    The crystal slurry enters the basket through the feed system.
  2. Mother Liquor Filtration
    Mother liquor passes through the filter medium and is collected through the filtrate outlet.
  3. Crystal Retention
    Crystals are retained inside the basket and gradually form a filter cake on the basket wall.
  4. Optional Cake Washing
    Wash liquid can be sprayed onto the cake to reduce residual mother liquor, soluble impurities, salts, or other contaminants.
  5. Spin Drying
    The basket continues rotating at high speed to remove residual liquid from the cake.
  6. Automatic Scraping
    After the programmed dewatering cycle, the scraper removes the crystal cake from the basket wall.
  7. Bottom Discharge
    The dewatered crystals are discharged through the bottom outlet for drying, screening, packaging, recycle, or further treatment.

Material selection should be based on chloride concentration, sulfate content, pH, operating temperature, oxidizing conditions, cleaning chemicals, and corrosion requirements.

FAQ

Is the Scraper Bottom Discharge Centrifuge a continuous centrifuge?

No. It is an automatic batch filtration centrifuge. However, it can be integrated with continuous crystallization, MVR evaporation, or salt production systems through slurry buffering and programmed batch operation.

Can the centrifuge recover mother liquor for reuse?

Yes. Mother liquor passes through the filter medium and can be collected for return to the crystallizer, evaporator, dissolution system, or designated recycle loop.

Can the crystal cake be washed before discharge?
