disk stack centrifuge
,solid bowl centrifuges
The Scraper Bottom Discharge Centrifuge is designed for batch filtration, cake washing, dewatering, and automatic discharge of filterable potash salt crystals.
It is suitable for potash crystallization duties involving potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, mixed potash salts, fertilizer-grade salt crystals, and similar crystalline materials produced from evaporation, cooling crystallization, conversion, or mother liquor recovery processes.
Potash salt slurry commonly contains crystals, mother liquor, dissolved salts, fines, insoluble impurities, and residual wash liquid. The separation stage must remove mother liquor efficiently, support controlled cake washing where required, reduce liquid carryover before drying, and discharge the recovered crystals without extensive manual handling.

1. Potash Slurry Feeding
Potash crystal slurry enters the rotating basket through a controlled feed system. The feed rate is adjusted to promote even cake formation and avoid localized overload.
2. Mother Liquor Filtration
Mother liquor passes through the filter medium and basket perforations before leaving through the filtrate outlet.
3. Crystal Retention
Potash crystals remain inside the basket while the liquid phase is discharged.
4. Filter Cake Formation
As feeding continues, the retained crystals gradually form a stable filter cake on the inner basket wall.
5. Optional Cake Washing
Wash liquid can be introduced to reduce residual mother liquor, soluble impurities, unwanted salts, or process residues retained between the crystals.
6. Final Spin Dewatering
The basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid retained in the potash crystal cake before discharge.
7. Scraper Cake Removal
After the programmed dewatering cycle, the scraper mechanism removes the crystal cake from the basket wall.
8. Bottom Product Discharge
The dewatered potash crystals are discharged through the bottom outlet and transferred to a dryer, screen, conveyor, storage hopper, or packaging system.

Automatic Bottom Cake Discharge
The scraper mechanism removes the dewatered crystal cake automatically through the bottom outlet, reducing manual unloading requirements.
Suitable for Filterable Salt Crystals
The basket filtration process is suitable for potash salts that can form a stable and permeable filter cake.
Optional Crystal Cake Washing
A controlled washing stage can reduce residual mother liquor and improve crystal cleanliness before drying or packaging.
Lower Liquid Carryover
Filtration followed by spin dewatering helps reduce free liquid retained in the crystal cake before downstream drying.
Controlled Batch Operation
Feed quantity, washing sequence, spin time, scraper movement, and discharge timing can be adjusted according to crystal condition and process requirements.

Is a scraper bottom discharge centrifuge suitable for potash salt crystals?
Yes, provided the potash crystals are filterable and can form a stable cake inside the basket. Final selection depends on crystal size, fines content, mother liquor chemistry, and required capacity.
Can potash crystals be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. An optional washing system can be configured to reduce residual mother liquor and soluble impurities before final spin drying.
Can the mother liquor be recycled?
Yes. The filtrate can be collected and returned to the crystallization system, routed to a recovery loop, or sent for further treatment according to the process design.
Is automatic discharge available?
Yes. The scraper mechanism removes the dewatered crystal cake and discharges it through the bottom outlet after the separation cycle.
Can this centrifuge be connected to a salt dryer?
Yes. The bottom discharge can be connected to a screw conveyor, belt conveyor, hopper, dryer feed system, screen, storage bin, or packaging line.
