The Top Discharge Centrifuge is designed for batch washing, solid-liquid separation, and dewatering of filterable resin beads after polymerization, post-treatment, purification, or resin recovery.
Resin bead slurry may contain polymer beads, water or solvent, residual monomer, salts, reaction auxiliaries, soluble impurities, and fine bead fractions. The separation stage must retain the beads effectively, support thorough washing, reduce liquid carryover, and avoid unnecessary bead breakage during feeding and discharge.
This configuration is suitable for resin manufacturing, resin post-treatment, and batch bead washing processes. It is not intended to replace in-column regeneration of installed ion-exchange resin beds.
- Ion exchange resin bead washing after production
- Cation resin and anion resin post-treatment
- Polymer resin bead dewatering
- Macroporous adsorbent resin washing
- Resin bead recovery from process liquor
- Water washing after polymerization or neutralization
- Solvent washing before resin drying or packaging
- Removal of residual salts, monomers, or soluble impurities
- Resin bead washing before screening or classification
- Batch separation of filterable spherical polymer beads
- Resin bead transfer to drying, curing, storage, or packaging systems
- Recovery of reusable resin beads from batch process slurry
Peony provides the batch washing and dewatering section between upstream resin production or washing equipment and downstream drying, screening, storage, or packaging systems.

How the Top Discharge Basket Centrifuge Works in Resin Bead Washing and Dewatering
1. Resin Slurry Feeding
Resin bead slurry enters the rotating basket through a controlled feed system.
2. Filtrate Separation
Water, solvent, mother liquor, or process liquid passes through the filter medium and basket perforations before leaving through the filtrate outlet.
3. Resin Bead Retention
The resin beads remain inside the basket while the liquid phase is discharged.
4. Cake Formation
As feeding continues, the beads gradually form a stable and permeable cake layer on the inner basket wall.
5. Optional Cake Washing
Wash liquid can be introduced to reduce residual salts, monomer, reaction liquor, solvent, or soluble impurities retained between the resin beads.
6. Spin Dewatering
The basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid retained in the resin bead cake.
7. Machine Stop and Top Opening
After the programmed batch cycle is complete, the centrifuge stops and the top cover is opened.
8. Top Resin Bead Discharge
The dewatered resin beads are discharged manually through the top opening and transferred to a collection bin, dryer, screen, curing section, storage bin, or packaging process.

Stable Resin Bead Retention
The basket filtration system retains filterable resin beads while allowing wash liquor or process liquid to pass through the filter medium.
Effective In-Basket Washing
Optional washing can reduce residual salts, monomer, solvent, or process liquor before the resin beads move to downstream drying or packaging.
Reduced Liquid Carryover
Filtration followed by spin drying helps lower the amount of free liquid retained in the bead cake.
Flexible Filter Media Selection
Filter cloth or screen specification can be selected according to bead size, fines content, wash liquid, filtrate clarity target, and cleaning method.
Easy Inspection and Cleaning
The top-opening design allows convenient inspection of the basket, filter media, bead cake condition, and wash results between batches.

Is a Top Discharge Centrifuge suitable for resin bead washing?
Yes, provided the resin beads can form a stable and filterable cake. It is suitable for batch resin washing, liquid removal, and bead recovery after production or post-treatment.
Can resin beads be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. A single-stage or multi-stage washing arrangement can be configured to reduce residual salts, monomer, solvent, or soluble impurities.
Will the centrifuge damage resin beads?
This depends on bead hardness, swelling behavior, feed method, washing conditions, and discharge handling. Controlled feeding and suitable operating parameters should be selected to reduce unnecessary bead damage.
Can the filtrate be recycled?
Yes. Filtrate can be collected for recycle, solvent recovery, further washing, or wastewater treatment according to the process design.
Is explosion-proof configuration available?
Yes. Explosion-proof motor and electrical configuration can be provided where required by the wash liquid, solvent properties, area classification, and plant safety standards.
