perforated basket centrifuge
,bag lifting centrifuge
The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is designed for batch recovery, washing, dewatering, and clean discharge of high-value chiral intermediate crystals.
It is suitable for fine chemical and pharmaceutical-intermediate crystallization processes where product loss, mother liquor carryover, cross-contamination risk, and manual cake removal need to be controlled. Instead of scraping the crystal cake from the basket wall, the centrifuge uses an integrated filter bag lifting arrangement to remove the complete cake more cleanly.
- Chiral intermediate crystal recovery

- High-value organic crystal washing
- Mother liquor removal before vacuum drying
- Crystal recovery after reaction crystallization
- Purification of specialty chemical crystals

- Filter bag material and micron rating selection based on particle size and fines content
- Controlled slurry feeding for stable cake formation
- Optional low-loss cake washing to reduce residual mother liquor
- Separate mother liquor and wash liquor collection for recovery or reuse
- Cleanable product-contact configuration and optional CIP connection
- PLC batch control with feeding, washing, drying, and discharge sequences
- Connection to vacuum dryers, filters, conveyors, and packing systems
1. Controlled Slurry Feeding
Chiral intermediate crystal slurry enters the rotating basket through a controlled feed system.
Stable feeding helps form an even crystal cake and reduces unnecessary crystal breakage.
2. Mother Liquor Separation
Under centrifugal force, mother liquor passes through the filter bag and basket perforations.
The filtrate can be collected for solvent recovery, mother liquor recycle, re-concentration, or further treatment.
3. Crystal Cake Formation
The crystals remain inside the filter bag and gradually form a filter cake.
Filter bag selection is matched to crystal size, fines content, filtrate clarity requirements, and solvent compatibility.
4. Optional Cake Washing and Spin Drying
A controlled wash step can reduce residual mother liquor and soluble impurities. The basket then continues rotating to reduce free liquid in the cake before discharge.
5. Filter Bag Lifting Discharge
After the batch cycle, the full filter bag is lifted for crystal discharge. This avoids manual scraping from the basket wall and helps reduce product retention inside the machine.

Lower Product Retention
The filter bag contains the crystal cake and supports cleaner removal, reducing valuable product left inside the basket.
Reduced Manual Scraping
Bag lifting discharge reduces the need for manual cake scraping, improving handling efficiency and reducing operator contact with product.
Lower Cross-Contamination Risk
The removable filter bag and cleanable product-contact design help support product changeover and batch-to-batch cleanliness.
Controlled Low-Loss Washing
Optional cake washing can reduce mother liquor carryover while helping limit unnecessary dissolution of valuable crystals.
Mother Liquor and Solvent Recovery
Mother liquor and wash filtrate can be collected separately for recovery, recycle, or further processing.
Chiral intermediate crystals are often separated from solvent-based crystallization slurry. Peony can configure the Bag Lifting Centrifuge according to solvent properties, vapor control requirements, recovery arrangement, and plant safety standards.
- Closed filtrate collection
Mother liquor and wash filtrate can be routed through closed piping to recovery tanks or solvent handling systems. - Separate liquor handling
Initial mother liquor and washing filtrate can be collected separately when different recovery or reuse routes are required. - Explosion-proof electrical option
Motors, control components, and electrical accessories can be configured for hazardous-area requirements when applicable. - Sealed cover and vent connection
The centrifuge can be provided with a sealed top cover and vapor vent interface for connection to the plant ventilation or vapor treatment system. - Material compatibility review
Product-contact parts, seals, filter bags, and piping connections can be selected according to the actual solvent system, temperature, and cleaning chemicals.

Is this centrifuge suitable for high-value chiral intermediate crystals?
Yes. It is suitable for filterable chiral intermediate crystals where low product retention, controlled washing, and cleaner discharge are important.
Why choose bag lifting discharge instead of scraper discharge?
Bag lifting avoids direct scraper contact with the cake. It can reduce manual scraping, product retention, and potential crystal damage during discharge.
Can mother liquor and wash liquor be collected separately?
Yes. The system can collect initial mother liquor and wash filtrate separately for solvent recovery, recycle, re-concentration, or controlled treatment.
Can the crystal cake be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. An optional in-basket washing system can be added. Wash liquid type, temperature, dosage, and contact time should be selected according to crystal solubility and purity requirements.
Can the centrifuge connect directly to a vacuum dryer?
Yes. The discharged crystal cake can be transferred to a vacuum dryer, tray dryer, filter dryer, conveyor, or other downstream handling equipment according to the plant layout.
