- Connection to vacuum dryers, solvent recovery systems, conveyors, and packaging equipment
1. Controlled Slurry Feeding
Crystal slurry enters the rotating basket through a controlled feed system.
The feed rate is adjusted to support even product distribution and stable cake formation.
2. Mother Liquor Separation
Under centrifugal force, mother liquor or solvent-containing filtrate passes through the filter bag and basket perforations.
The separated liquid can be transferred to a solvent recovery system, mother liquor tank, recycle tank, or further purification section.
3. Crystal Cake Formation
The flavor or fragrance intermediate crystals remain inside the filter bag and gradually form a filter cake.
The filter bag is selected according to crystal size, fines content, filtration speed, and required filtrate clarity.
4. Optional Cake Washing and Spin Drying
A controlled wash step can reduce residual mother liquor, solvent residues, or soluble impurities on the crystal cake.
The basket then continues rotating to reduce free liquid before discharge.
5. Filter Bag Lifting Discharge
After the batch cycle, the filter bag is lifted to remove the dewatered crystal cake.
This supports cleaner product discharge and reduces the need for manual scraping inside the basket.

Gentle Product Discharge
The filter bag lifting system avoids direct scraper contact with the crystal cake, helping reduce mechanical damage during discharge.
Lower Product Retention
The complete cake is removed together with the filter bag, helping reduce valuable product remaining inside the basket.
Closed Solvent and Mother Liquor Handling
Filtrate can be collected through closed piping and connected to recovery, recycle, or treatment systems.
Controlled Cake Washing
Optional washing can reduce residual mother liquor and impurity carryover before downstream drying or further purification.
Better Batch Changeover
Removable filter bags and cleanable product-contact parts support easier cleaning and changeover for multi-product flavor and fragrance intermediate production.
Flavor and fragrance intermediates are often separated from solvent-based crystal slurry. Peony can configure the centrifuge according to solvent properties, vapor control requirements, recovery routes, and plant safety standards.
- Closed filtrate piping for mother liquor and solvent collection
- Separate collection of mother liquor and wash filtrate when required
- Sealed cover and vent connection for vapor handling
- Explosion-proof electrical configuration for applicable plant areas
- Solvent-compatible seals, filter bags, and product-contact materials

Is this centrifuge suitable for solvent-based flavor and fragrance intermediate crystallization?
Yes. It can be configured for solvent-based crystal separation when the intermediate forms a stable and filterable cake. The final design should consider solvent compatibility, crystal size, filtrate handling, and explosion-proof requirements.
Why use a bag lifting centrifuge instead of a scraper discharge centrifuge?
Bag lifting discharge avoids direct scraper contact with the cake. It is suitable when lower product retention, cleaner batch changeover, and gentler product handling are important.
Can mother liquor and wash filtrate be collected separately?
Yes. The system can be designed to collect initial mother liquor and wash filtrate separately for solvent recovery, recycle, re-concentration, or controlled treatment.
Can the product be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. An optional in-basket washing system can reduce residual mother liquor and soluble impurities. Wash liquid type, dosage, temperature, and contact time should be selected according to product solubility and purity requirements.
Can the centrifuge connect to a vacuum dryer or solvent recovery system?
Yes. The discharged crystal cake can be transferred to a vacuum dryer, tray dryer, filter dryer, conveyor, or packaging line. The filtrate outlet can also connect to a solvent recovery or mother liquor recycle system.
