Prinsip pemisahan

Mengambil keuntungan dari prinsip bahwa cairan ringan, cairan berat dan fase padat, dengan kepadatan berbeda dan saling tidak larut dalam cairan campuran, mendapatkan kecepatan sedimentasi yang berbeda di medan gaya sentrifugal atau medan gaya gravitasi, memisahkan stratifikasi atau menyebabkan partikel padat di likuid untuk disimpan dapat dicapai.

 

Pada medan gaya gravitasi atau medan gaya sentrifugal, fase cair ringan, fase cair berat dan fase padat dengan densitas berbeda dan saling tidak larut dalam cairan campuran, masing-masing memperoleh kecepatan sedimentasi yang berbeda, sehingga terpisah dan bertingkat.Pada bidang gaya gravitasi disebut pemisahan gaya berat, sedangkan pada bidang gaya sentrifugal disebut pemisahan sentrifugal.

 

 

Pemisahan gravitasi

Karena perbedaan kepadatan, cairan campuran dalam wadah, setelah beberapa waktu, secara bertahap dibagi menjadi 2 lapisan.Partikel fasa berat dari endapan cairan campuran ke dasar wadah, sedangkan fasa ringan satu ditangguhkan ke permukaan atas.Bentuk bidang pemisah yang agak berbeda antara fase ringan dan fase berat.Kecepatan pemisahan dipengaruhi oleh perbedaan densitas antara fase ringan dan fase berat yang membentuk cairan campuran.Semakin besar perbedaan densitasnya, semakin cepat kecepatan pemisahannya.
