Description

The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is designed for batch separation, washing, and recovery of high-value crystals or filterable solids after crystallization, reaction, extraction, or purification.

High-value product slurry may contain crystals or solids, mother liquor, soluble impurities, fine-particle fractions, and residual process liquid. The separation stage must remove liquid effectively while reducing product hold-up inside the basket, limiting loss during cake washing, and supporting controlled transfer to downstream handling equipment.

This configuration is suitable for specialty chemicals, organic acids, food ingredients, high-value salts, fine chemical intermediates, and other batch products where clean collection, low residual hold-up, and controlled product transfer are important.

Typical Applications
  • High-value crystal recovery after crystallization
  • Product isolation after recrystallization or purification
  • Small-batch recovery where residual product loss must be minimized
  • Multi-product production requiring clean batch changeover
  • Recovery of filterable solids from mother liquor or process liquor
  • Product cake washing before final drying or packaging
  • Batch separation with controlled whole-bag product transfer
  • High-purity product collection with reduced basket-wall hold-up
  • Specialty product recovery requiring lower operator contact
  • Production lines connecting centrifuge discharge to dryer, screen, or packaging equipment

Low-Residual High-Value Product Recovery Solution

Peony provides the batch solid-liquid separation section between upstream crystallization, reaction, or slurry preparation and downstream drying, screening, storage, or packaging.

Peony can provide:

  • Bag lifting centrifuge selected according to batch capacity and product condition
  • Filter bag material and micron rating selected according to particle size and filtrate clarity
  • Controlled slurry feeding arrangement for stable cake formation
  • Optional cake washing system to reduce residual mother liquor or soluble impurities
  • Filtrate collection, recovery, recycle, or treatment connection
  • Filter bag lifting device and product collection bin
  • Low-residual basket and bag discharge arrangement
  • Cleanable product-contact configuration, as required
  • PLC-controlled batch operation with safety interlocks
  • Downstream dryer, screen, hopper, storage bin, or packaging connection

How the Bag Lifting Centrifuge Works in Low-Residual High-Value Product Recovery

1. Controlled Slurry Feeding

High-value product slurry enters the rotating basket lined with a suitable filter bag through a controlled feed arrangement.

2. Liquid Filtration

Mother liquor or process liquid passes through the filter bag and basket perforations before leaving through the filtrate outlet.

3. Product Retention

Crystals or filterable solids remain inside the filter bag while the liquid phase is discharged.

4. Cake Formation

The retained solids gradually form a stable filter cake inside the bag.

5. Optional Cake Washing

Compatible wash liquid can be introduced to reduce residual mother liquor, soluble impurities, color-bearing liquor, or unwanted process residues retained in the cake.

6. Spin Drying

The basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid retained in the product cake before discharge.

7. Machine Stop and Top Opening

After the programmed separation cycle is complete, the centrifuge stops and the top cover is opened.

8. Filter Bag Lifting and Product Collection

The filter bag containing the dewatered product cake is lifted out and transferred to a collection bin, dryer feed station, screening section, storage bin, or packaging process.

Main Advantages in Low-Residual High-Value Product Recovery

Low-Residual Product Discharge

The removable filter bag retains the complete product cake and is lifted out after separation. This helps reduce product remaining on the basket wall, inside the filtration chamber, or around the discharge area.

Higher Product Recovery Efficiency

For high-value products, reducing residual hold-up can be as important as reducing cake moisture. Whole-bag discharge helps recover more of the retained solids from each batch.

Reduced Transfer and Handling Loss

The product cake remains contained inside the filter bag during removal and transfer. This can reduce spillage, uncontrolled exposure, and material loss before the product reaches the collection bin, dryer, or packaging section.

Controlled Washing for Product Purity

Optional cake washing can reduce residual mother liquor or soluble impurities before final drying. The wash volume and sequence can be adjusted to support product purity while limiting unnecessary product dissolution or loss.

Cleaner Batch Changeover

The removable bag reduces direct product contact with the basket surface and simplifies cleaning between batches. This is useful for multi-product production where residue from the previous batch must be minimized.

FAQ

Is a Bag Lifting Centrifuge suitable for high-value product recovery?

Yes, provided the product can form a stable and filterable cake. It is particularly suitable for batch recovery where low residual hold-up, clean collection, and controlled product transfer are important.

Does low residual mean low cake moisture?

No. Low residual mainly refers to reducing product remaining in the basket or during discharge. Cake moisture depends on particle size, cake thickness, mother liquor viscosity, basket speed, and spin-drying time.

Can the product cake be washed inside the centrifuge?

Yes. An optional wash system can be configured to reduce residual mother liquor or soluble impurities. Wash conditions should be selected carefully to control product loss.

Why use a filter bag for high-value product recovery?

The filter bag contains the complete product cake during removal. This supports cleaner collection, reduces basket wall residue, and simplifies transfer to downstream drying or packaging.

Can the separated liquid be recycled?

Yes. The filtrate can be returned to crystallization, routed for recovery, or sent to further treatment depending on the overall process route.
