  • Wastewater reuse systems
  • Manufacturing process water recovery
  • Mining and mineral processing water circulation
  • Chemical plant water recycling
  • Paper and pulp process water treatment
  • Food and beverage wastewater recovery
  • Metal processing wastewater treatment
  • Pretreatment before membrane filtration

Closed-Loop Water System Challenges

Suspended Solids Accumulation

Recycled water may continuously accumulate suspended solids during circulation.

Sludge Generation

Process residues and contaminants may form concentrated sludge in circulating water systems.

Scaling and Fouling Risk

Suspended solids and impurities may cause scaling, blockage, and fouling in pipelines and equipment.

Freshwater Consumption Reduction

Industrial plants require higher water reuse rates to reduce freshwater intake and wastewater discharge.

Continuous Operation Requirements

Batch separation methods may require frequent cleaning, replacement, and manual operation.

Closed-Loop Water Separation Solution

Circulating Process Water + Suspended Solids
→ Collection Tank / Equalization Tank
→ Feed Pump
→ Industrial Decanter Centrifuge
→ Recycled Clean Water + Concentrated Sludge

Clarified Water → Process Reuse / Cooling System / Production Line

Concentrated Sludge → Drying / Disposal / Resource Recover

How the Decanter Centrifuge Works

1. Wastewater Feeding

Circulating water containing suspended solids enters the rotating bowl through a controlled feed system.

2. Solid Sedimentation

Under centrifugal force, solid particles move toward the bowl wall and form a concentrated sludge layer.

3. Liquid Clarification

Separated water remains in the inner liquid zone and moves toward the liquid discharge outlet.

4. Continuous Sludge Conveying

The scroll transports settled solids toward the conical discharge end.

5. Separate Discharge

Clarified recycled water and concentrated sludge are discharged continuously through separate outlets.

Main Advantages

Improved Water Recycling Efficiency

Continuous removal of suspended solids helps maintain recycled water quality and improves reuse performance.

Reduced Sludge Disposal Volume

High-efficiency dewatering produces concentrated sludge with lower moisture content, reducing transportation and disposal costs.

Stable Closed-Loop Operation

Automatic solid removal helps prevent fouling, scaling, and equipment performance decline.

Continuous Automatic Separation

The decanter centrifuge operates continuously without filter replacement or frequent manual cleaning.

Flexible Industrial Configuration

Materials, wear protection, and control systems can be customized according to water quality and process conditions.

FAQ

Can a decanter centrifuge be used for water recycling systems?

Yes. It is widely used for continuous removal of suspended solids from industrial circulating water and wastewater reuse systems.

Can it replace filters in closed-loop water systems?

It depends on the process requirements. A decanter centrifuge is especially suitable for high-solid-load applications requiring continuous sludge removal.

What types of solids can it remove?

It can separate sludge, mineral particles, process residues, biological solids, and other suspended materials depending on particle characteristics.

Can the separated water be reused directly?

The clarified water quality depends on the feed characteristics and process requirements. Additional polishing treatment may be required for sensitive applications.

Is the system suitable for continuous factory operation?

Yes. The decanter centrifuge is designed for continuous feeding, automatic separation, and continuous solids discharge.
