The Peony Bag Lifting Centrifuge is designed for the batch recovery, washing, dewatering, and gentle discharge of sugar alcohol crystals after crystallization.
It is particularly suitable for erythritol crystal recovery and can also be configured for xylitol, maltitol, sorbitol, mannitol, and other polyol crystal products where crystal solubility, product purity, washing loss, and mother liquor recovery need careful control.
Sugar alcohol crystals may be sensitive to excessive washing, long residence time, mechanical scraping, or uncontrolled liquor carryover. The bag lifting discharge structure removes the finished crystal cake by lifting the filter bag instead of scraping the cake from the basket wall. This helps reduce crystal breakage, product retention inside the machine, and manual cleaning work.
- Erythritol crystal recovery
- Xylitol crystal separation
- Maltitol crystal dewatering
- Sorbitol crystal recovery
- Mannitol crystal filtration

Peony provides the batch separation section between sugar alcohol crystallization and downstream drying or packaging.
Crystallizer → Slurry Tank → Bag Lifting Centrifuge → Mother Liquor Collection / Recycle → Optional Cake Washing → Spin Drying → Bag Lifting Discharge → Dryer / Screen / Packaging
Peony can provide:
- Bag lifting centrifuge matched to batch capacity and crystal condition
- Filter bag selection based on crystal size and fines content
- Controlled slurry feeding for stable cake formation
- Optional low-loss cake washing to reduce residual mother liquor
- Mother liquor collection and recycle connection
- Gentle bag lifting discharge for reduced crystal damage
- PLC batch control and safety interlocks
- Connection to dryer, screen, conveyor, or packaging line
1. Slurry Feeding
Sugar alcohol crystal slurry is fed into the rotating basket through a controlled feed system.
2. Filtration and Cake Formation
Mother liquor passes through the filter bag, while crystals are retained to form a filter cake.
3. Optional Cake Washing
A controlled wash step can reduce residual mother liquor and soluble impurities with lower crystal loss.
4. Spin Drying
The basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid in the crystal cake.
5. Bag Lifting Discharge
The filter bag is lifted to discharge the dewatered crystals gently, without scraper contact.
6. Bag Cleaning and Reuse
The filter bag can be cleaned, inspected, or replaced before the next batch.

Gentle Crystal Discharge
Bag lifting discharge avoids scraper contact and helps reduce crystal breakage.
Low-Loss Cake Washing
Optional washing reduces residual mother liquor while limiting crystal dissolution.
Mother Liquor Recovery
Mother liquor and wash filtrate can be collected for recycle, recovery, or re-concentration.
Reduced Product Retention
The filter bag supports cleaner cake removal and reduces product remaining inside the basket.
Flexible Filter Bag Selection
Filter bag material and micron rating can be matched to crystal size, fines content, and filtration requirements.
The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is generally suitable when:
- The sugar alcohol crystals are filterable
- The crystal cake is stable enough to be lifted with the filter bag
- Gentle discharge is preferred over scraper discharge
- Controlled washing is needed to reduce mother liquor carryover
- Product loss during washing needs to be minimized
- Mother liquor recovery is important
- Batch operation is acceptable for the production capacity
- Product retention and cleaning are important process concerns

Is this centrifuge suitable for erythritol crystal recovery?
Yes. The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is suitable for erythritol crystal recovery when the crystal slurry can form a stable and filterable cake. Filter bag selection, washing conditions, spin-drying time, and mother liquor recovery should be confirmed during process design.
Can the same centrifuge be used for xylitol, maltitol, and sorbitol?
It can be configured for different sugar alcohol crystals, including xylitol, maltitol, and sorbitol. However, the filter bag, cycle time, washing method, and material configuration may need adjustment according to the crystal properties and liquor chemistry.
How can washing loss be reduced?
Washing loss can be reduced by controlling wash liquid concentration, temperature, volume, contact time, and wash sequence. The aim is to remove residual mother liquor while avoiding unnecessary dissolution of valuable crystals.
Can mother liquor and wash liquor be collected separately?
Yes. The centrifuge can be designed for separate collection of mother liquor and wash filtrate. This supports product recovery, liquor recycle, re-concentration, and controlled process management.
Is a scraper required for cake discharge?
No. The crystal cake is discharged by lifting the filter bag. This avoids scraper contact with the product and is useful for crystals that require gentler handling.
