The Bag Lifting Centrifuge is designed for batch recovery, washing, and dewatering of monosodium glutamate crystals after crystallization.
MSG crystal slurry contains product crystals, mother liquor, residual soluble impurities, and possible fine-crystal fractions. The separation stage must remove mother liquor efficiently while maintaining crystal quality, controlling washing loss, and supporting clean product collection before drying, screening, or packaging.
This configuration is suitable for food ingredient production lines where batch traceability, hygienic product handling, low product hold-up, and convenient filter media replacement are important.
- Monosodium glutamate crystal recovery

1. Crystal Slurry Feeding
MSG crystal slurry enters the rotating basket lined with a suitable filter bag.
2. Mother Liquor Filtration
Mother liquor passes through the filter bag and is collected through the filtrate outlet.
3. Crystal Retention
MSG crystals remain inside the filter bag while the liquid phase is discharged.
4. Cake Formation
The retained crystals gradually form a stable filter cake inside the bag.
5. Optional Cake Washing
Compatible wash liquid can be introduced to reduce residual mother liquor, dissolved impurities, or color-bearing liquor retained between crystals.
6. Spin Drying
The basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid retained in the MSG crystal cake.
7. Machine Stop and Top Opening
After the programmed separation cycle is complete, the centrifuge stops and the top cover is opened.
8. Filter Bag Lifting and Product Collection
The filter bag containing the dewatered MSG crystals is lifted out and transferred to a collection bin, dryer feed station, screening section, or packaging process.

Contained Product Collection
The filter bag holds the crystal cake as one batch during removal, helping reduce product residue inside the basket and simplifying product transfer.
Controlled Mother Liquor Reduction
Filtration, optional washing, and spin drying help reduce residual mother liquor before the crystal product enters downstream drying.
Food Ingredient Process Compatibility
The system can be configured with food-grade product-contact materials, cleanable surfaces, compatible seals, and suitable filter bag materials.
Easier Batch Cleaning and Changeover
The removable bag structure supports filter media replacement and cleaning between production campaigns.
Flexible Batch Handling
The centrifuge is suitable for production lines where batch volume, crystal condition, or campaign scheduling may vary.

Is a Bag Lifting Centrifuge suitable for MSG crystal recovery?
Yes, provided the MSG crystals can form a stable and filterable cake. It is particularly suitable for batch production where contained product collection and hygienic handling are required.
Can MSG crystals be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. An optional wash system can be configured to reduce residual mother liquor and soluble impurities before drying. The wash conditions should be controlled to limit unnecessary product loss.
Why use filter bag lifting for MSG crystals?
The filter bag contains the crystal cake during removal. This can reduce product residue inside the basket and support cleaner batch collection for downstream handling.
Can the separated mother liquor be recycled?
Yes. The mother liquor can be returned to the crystallization section, routed for recovery, or sent to further treatment according to the overall process route.
Can the crystal cake be sent directly to a dryer?
Yes. The lifted bag or collected MSG cake can be transferred to a dryer feed station, screen, storage bin, or packaging system according to the plant layout.
