The Top Discharge Centrifuge is designed for batch removal of filterable suspended solids from industrial cleaning solutions, parts-washing liquids, rinse water, and maintenance cleaning baths.
It is suitable when the cleaning liquid contains solid contaminants such as metal chips, abrasive particles, scale, paint flakes, rust particles, carbon deposits, polishing residue, resin fragments, or chemical precipitates. The centrifuge retains these solids inside the basket while clarified liquid passes through the filter medium for collection, reuse, further treatment, or discharge.
The top discharge design is especially suitable for intermittent cleaning systems, maintenance workshops, equipment-cleaning stations, and small-to-medium process lines where operators can stop the machine, open the cover, inspect the captured solids, and remove them manually.
- Parts-washing solution solid removal

- Metalworking cleaning bath filtration
- Surface-treatment rinse water solids separation
- Grinding and polishing residue removal
- Scale and rust particle removal

Peony provides batch separation solutions for cleaning liquids that contain recoverable or disposable solids.
A typical process arrangement is:
Cleaning Tank / Rinse Collection Tank → Buffer Tank → Optional Oil Skimmer or Coalescer → Top Discharge Centrifuge → Clarified Liquid Tank → Reuse / Further Treatment / Discharge
The centrifuge is positioned after the cleaning process to remove retained solids before the liquid is returned to the cleaning bath or sent to the next treatment stage.
For cleaning solutions containing free oil, floating grease, or large debris, upstream pre-treatment may be recommended before centrifugation.

How the Top Discharge Centrifuge Works in Industrial Cleaning Solution Solid Removal
- Cleaning Liquid Feeding
The industrial cleaning solution is fed into the rotating basket lined with suitable filter media. - Solid Retention
Metal fines, scale, abrasive particles, sludge flakes, or other filterable solids are retained inside the basket. - Liquid Filtration
Clarified cleaning liquid passes through the filter medium and is collected through the filtrate outlet. - Spin Separation
Continued rotation improves liquid removal from the captured solids and reduces liquid carryover during discharge. - Machine Stop
After the programmed batch cycle is completed, the basket stops safely. - Top Cover Opening
The cover is opened to allow access to the basket and filter medium. - Manual Solids Removal
Operators remove the retained solids and clean or replace the filter media when required. - Liquid Reuse or Further Treatment
The clarified liquid can be returned to the cleaning system, sent to polishing filtration, or transferred to a wastewater treatment stage.

Removes Filterable Solids Before Liquid Reuse
The centrifuge separates suspended solids from cleaning liquids before they are returned to a wash tank or transferred to downstream treatment. This can help reduce solids buildup in pumps, nozzles, pipelines, and cleaning equipment.
Flexible Filter Media Selection
Filter media can be selected according to the size, shape, and quantity of contaminants. This allows the system to be adapted for metal particles, scale, abrasive residue, coating flakes, or precipitated solids.
Suitable for Intermittent Cleaning Operations
The batch operating mode is well suited to workshop cleaning systems, maintenance cleaning baths, equipment washdowns, and production lines with non-continuous cleaning liquid discharge.
Direct Access for Solids Inspection
The top-opening structure allows operators to inspect the captured solids, assess contamination type, and clean the basket or replace the filter medium as needed.
Cost-Effective Pre-Treatment for Downstream Systems
Removing coarse or filterable solids upstream can reduce the load on bag filters, cartridge filters, membranes, or wastewater treatment equipment.

Can this centrifuge remove oil from industrial cleaning solution?
It is mainly designed to remove filterable solids. Free oil may require an oil skimmer or coalescer upstream. Stable emulsified oil generally requires a different treatment method.
Can clarified cleaning liquid be reused?
It can be collected for reuse when the remaining liquid quality meets the process requirement. Further polishing filtration or treatment may still be needed depending on the cleaning standard.
What solids can be removed?
Typical solids include metal chips, abrasive particles, scale, rust, paint flakes, carbon residue, polishing debris, and filterable precipitates.
Is the centrifuge suitable for continuous cleaning systems?
It is a batch machine. It works best for intermittent or buffered cleaning-liquid discharge. A buffer tank can be used where cleaning liquid is generated continuously.
How is the captured sludge removed?
After the batch cycle, the machine stops and the top cover is opened. The retained solids are removed manually from the basket and the filter media can be cleaned or replaced.
