How the Bag Lifting Centrifuge Works
1. Top Feeding
The slurry is fed into the rotating basket through the upper feed port.
A controlled feed rate helps distribute the material evenly and supports stable cake formation inside the filter bag.
2. Centrifugal Filtration
As the basket rotates, centrifugal force drives the liquid through the filter bag and basket perforations.
The separated filtrate is collected through the outlet and can be recycled, recovered, or sent for further treatment.
3. Cake Formation
Solid particles remain inside the filter bag and gradually form a filter cake.
The final cake quality depends on particle size, fines content, slurry concentration, liquid viscosity, and filter bag selection.
4. Optional Cake Washing and Spin Drying
A compatible wash liquid can be introduced to reduce residual mother liquor, soluble impurities, or solvent carryover.
After washing, the basket continues rotating to reduce free liquid in the cake before discharge.
5. Bag Lifting and Off-Site Discharge
After the batch cycle is complete, the centrifuge stops.
The filter bag and liquid-block plate are lifted from the basket and transferred to a dedicated unloading position. The retained solids are discharged outside the centrifuge, reducing the need for manual scraping inside the machine.

Main Advantages
Fully Enclosed Batch Filtration
The enclosed structure helps reduce product exposure, odor release, dust escape, and operator contact during handling.
Clean Off-Site Bag Discharge
The filter bag is lifted out for discharge at a separate unloading location, helping reduce material retention inside the basket and simplify cleaning.
Suitable for Toxic and Flammable Materials
The PPBL centrifuge can be configured with sealed covers, vapor vent connections, nitrogen protection, and explosion-proof electrical components for applicable process conditions.
GMP-Oriented Sanitary Design
Product-contact parts can be polished and configured for easier cleaning. This is suitable for pharmaceutical intermediates, food additives, vitamins, and high-value fine chemical products.
Low Labor Intensity
The bag lifting arrangement reduces manual cake scraping and supports faster product removal compared with conventional manual top-discharge centrifuges.
For high-purity or sensitive products, the PPBL centrifuge can be designed around the following requirements:
- Polished product-contact surfaces
- Smooth internal structure with reduced material hold-up points
- Removable and cleanable filter bag
- Closed cover and sealed feeding arrangement
- Separate filtrate and wash liquor collection
- CIP connection where required
- Sight glass and explosion-proof lamp option
- Solvent-compatible seals and gaskets
- Nitrogen blanketing or vent connection for volatile solvents
- Dedicated unloading area for reduced cross-contamination risk

Is the PPBL centrifuge suitable for toxic or flammable materials?
Yes. The centrifuge can be configured with sealed covers, solvent-compatible seals, vapor vent connection, nitrogen protection, and explosion-proof electrical components where required.
Why choose bag lifting discharge instead of manual top discharge?
Bag lifting discharge removes the filter bag and cake together from the basket. This reduces manual scraping, lowers product retention, and allows unloading at a separate dedicated station.
Can the cake be washed inside the centrifuge?
Yes. An optional washing system can be installed to reduce mother liquor, solvent residues, or soluble impurities before spin drying and discharge.
Can the PPBL centrifuge be used for pharmaceutical or food-grade products?
It can be configured with polished product-contact surfaces, cleanable construction, suitable seals, and hygienic process connections for pharmaceutical intermediate, nutraceutical, food additive, and specialty ingredient applications.
Can mother liquor and wash filtrate be collected separately?
Yes. The system can be designed for separate collection of initial filtrate and wash liquor to support recycle, solvent recovery, re-concentration, or controlled treatment.
